The Aircraft Maintenance And Overhaul System is now operational.

First, just to make it clear.. The normal repair system hasn't been changed and still working just the way it did in the past. The new system is an addon regardless of the old repair system.

This is how the system works:
  1. From now each time you take off with your aircraft the system will store the number of hours each of your aircraft made.
  2. When an aircraft gets to 2,000 flight hours it will need to be overhauled or you wont be able to use the aircraft.
  3. If you don't want to wait until 2,000 flight hours, after you make 1,000 flight hours you will be able to make the overhaul. So after 1,000 flight hours you will have the option to overhaul and you will still be able to use the aircraft, but if you get to the point of 2,000 flight hours then you wont be able to use the aircraft anymore until the overhaul.
  4. After you overhaul the aircraft the the maximum condition of the aircraft will be set back to 100%, the flight hours of the aircraft will be reset to 0 (start counting to 2,000 again) and if your normal aircraft condition was less than 100%, it will be set to 100% aswell.

More information:
  • Each 200 flight hours you log with your aircraft will take 1% off your maximum plane condition, so after 2,000 flight hours when you need to overhaul your aircraft your maximum condition will be 90%.
  • When you repair your aircraft (the normal repair), at the end of the repair your aircraft condition will be set to the maximum aircraft condition and not 100% like it was before. So if you logged 400 flight hours with your aircraft and you make a normal repair your new plane condition will be 98% (1% less for each 200 flight hours, 400 flight hours = 2%) and not 100% like it was before.
  • The cost of the overhaul will be determined by the aircraft size:
    • Regional Aircraft - The cost of each 1% is $50,000. So if you overhaul the aircraft at 90% the cost of the overhaul will be $500,000.
    • Medium Range Aircraft - The cost of each 1% is $70,000. So if you overhaul the aircraft at 90% the cost of the overhaul will be $700,000.
    • Long Range Aircraft - The cost of each 1% is $90,000. So if you overhaul the aircraft at 90% the cost of the overhaul will be $900,000.
    • Cargo Aircraft - Will be divided by the other categories by it's flight range.
  • The cost of the overhaul are higher than what i told you before BUT there will be no time that the aircraft will be out of service, so after the overhaul you will be able to use the aircraft right away just like normal repairs.
  • In the Routes Information page next to the normal condition % you can now see the max condition of the aircraft aswell.
  • In the Airline Fleet page you can see the max condition aswell and the flight hours that the aircraft logged.
  • To overhaul your aircraft you need to go to the Airline Fleet page, there when one of your aircraft logged more than 1,000 flight hours (the minimum time for overhauling an aircraft) you will see next to it a [Image: cog.png] icon. Clicking this icon will overhaul your aircraft. Clicking the icon will automatically overhaul the aircraft without asking you if you are sure about it or not. So be sure you want to overhaul the aircraft before clicking this icon.

Important -
The flight hours calculation started from few minutes ago, nothing you did until now will count for the 2,000 flight hours to overhaul.

I think this is all the information about this system. If i missed something i will make an update later on.
its very cool Admin. Its just like taking a car into the shop its 35,0000 mile check. But your not taking a car your taking a plane in for 2,000 mile check. This will some fun and making it like real life
brillaint add on!! Once the overhall is done, can you get your aircraft back up to 100% or will it remain lower?
once you overhaul then its back to a 100%, thats the point. could we please have specific prices for the cargo aircraft?
I think it should be done by # of takeoffs and landings because:

1) most of the wear and tear happens during takeoff and landing, in cruise the aircraft does not take much strain, unless there is strong turbulence
and
2) it will encorage longer flights, because I notice many big airlines using 380s to fly short flights. (like Boston-Washington DC)
this is a good idea, when you first came up with it i was thinking that the costs would be 10 times higher than what you've set them as

Admin,
Are delays a factor in flight hours?
Thank you
